Register for bid and proposal opps with the City of Wichita
As a certified DBE with the State of Kansas, the City of Wichita is committed to supporting and enhancing opportunities to do business with small/emerging business enterprises.
Please visit the City’s Vendor Self Service (VSS) website to register as a vendor to be notified of City bid and proposal opportunities. You may also view past bid results and current contracts on our website:

KDOT accepting applications for Innovative Technology Program
The Innovative Technology Program provides financial assistance to governmental and non-governmental organizations for innovative transportation-related projects that promote safety, improve access or mobility and implement new transportation technology. Read the full release here (opens PDF).
Pittsburg State launches initiative to boost small businesses in SE Kansas
More opportunities are in store for entrepreneurs and small businesses in southeast Kansas, thanks to Pittsburg State. A $350,000 Forge grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce will fund the pilot program, the Foundry Initiative. It’ll be administered by the university’s Research, Economic and Community Engagement Division” at Block 22 in downtown Pittsburg and will begin in Crawford, Bourbon, Allen, and Neosho counties. Out of the grant money, $225,000 will be allocated for small business grants and technical assistant grants. The resources will be available to businesses and entrepreneurs in key sectors, including advanced manufacturing, food and agriculture, and professional and technical services. Read more here.
Suicide Prevention Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by suicide. It’s also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention and share messages of hope.During September, and throughout the year, we can care about suicide prevention; connect to community, culture, data, and research; and collaborate with others to address this public health problem that has impacted millions of Americans. Read more about how you can help here.
